At the Queen's Park Stadium the Royal Westminister Regiment's Changing of the Color Guard, Lt.Colonel Doug Poitras became the new Commander of the New Westminster Regiment also known as the "Westies."
Tribute to Korean War Veterans
This wonderful afternoon was hosted at Korean Consul General Tong Mo Suh’s residence for the Korean War Veterans. Senator Martin had the great honour of addressing these brave men who sacrificed so much for the freedom of both countries.
Refurbished Vancouver Convention Centre East Building Reopens
Senator Martin had the honour of assisting British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell by representing the federal government in reopening the original Vancouver Trade and Convention Center. Senator Martin would like to congratulate Susan Point for her beautiful artwork now displayed in the new lobby of the East Convention Centre.
B'nai Brith Canada, BC Region 1st Townhall Meeting
Senator Martin joined Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney (Calgary-Southeast) in the first townhall meeting with B'nai Brith BC Region members.

To commemorate the 65th Anniversary of D-Day the George Derby Center hosted a beautiful ceremony to honour the brave spirit of Canada’s Veterans.
Afternoon Cruise Celebrating New Westminster's 150th Birthday
Senator Martin was invited to join an afternoon cruise to celebrate New Westminster’s 150th Birthday. Senator Martin was joined by Mayor Wanye Wright with New Westminster Councillors Jamie McEvoy and Bill Harper.
Union-Solomon Lodge No.9 & Westminster Shrine Club No.8 Reception
Senator Martin was pleased to attend this reception hosted by the Union-Solomon Lodge No. 9 & Westminster Shrine Club No. 8. A highlight of the reception was hearing the history of the lodge from historian Jim Pound and seeing the the lodge's beautiful organ.
Camp Korea
Camp Korea is an annual events organized by C3 Society. The Camp is for seven to thirteen year olds of Korean heritage and is designed to help them learn about their rich Korean culture. Camp Korea was held at Camp Howdy, Belcarra, BC
Tour of Richmond Olympic Oval
John Steward the General Manager of the Richmond Oval was gracious enough to conduct a tour of the Oval for Councilor McNulty, the Honourable Steven Fletcher , Minister of State for Democratic Reform and Senator Martin. During the tour they had the opportunity to meet Brock Miron, a member of the Canadian National Speed skating team. Senator Martin would like to commend Mr. Miron for his hard work and dedication to his sport and wishes him the best of luck in the upcoming 2010 Olympic Games.
8th Annual Korean Heritage Festival
Along with the Minister of Canadian Heritage James Moore (Port Moody-Westwood-Port Coquitlam), Harry Bloy, MLA, and Coquitlam Councillor Selina Robinson, Senator Martin spent a wonderful day celebrating Korean Heritage with Canadians of all heritages.
