ASIAN ADULT ADOPTEES OF BRITISH COLUMBIA (TRIPLE ABC)
On November 6, 2010 Senator Martin attended the Asian Adult Adoptees of British Columbias' second annual Family Day event. The event was sponsored thanks to the generous suppport of the Vancouver Korean Consulate. The Asian Adult Adoptees of BC welcomed adult adoptees, adoptive families and the Korean-Canadian community.
THE KOREAN CONFERENCE ON ASSIMILIATION INTO THE MAINSTREAM SOCIETY IN CANADA
In this conference the future of the next Korean generation in Canada was discussed. Through this discussion, it was made clear that there is a broad base of strong support for Koreans to assimilate into the mainstream society of Canada as immigrants. Senator Martin attended and spoke during the conference along with distinguished guests.
61ST ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
Today Senator Martin attended an event at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver, BC. The event was celebrating the 61st Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
MEETING WITH KOREAN WAR VETERAN NAIM KNOTT
Senator Martin on September 17 went to visit Mr. Nairn Knott and his family to express her deepest gradtitude for his efforts during the Korean War. While visiting Mr. Knott, Senator Martin met with Mrs. Knott as well as other members of the Knott family.
CHINATOWN'S 125TH ANNIVERSARY
Today in Vancouver, Senator Martin attended a celebration for the 125th Anniversary of Vancouver's Chinatown at a photo exhibition.
KOREAN HERITAGE DAY FESTIVAL
Senator Martin attended the Annual Korean Heritage Day Festival in Vancouver, BC.
ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION FOR ETHNIC COMMUNITY PUBLISHERS
A discussion took place with officials from the Federal Government, Provincial Government and media reporters from ethnic papers in Vancouver. In attendence was the Honourable Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Senator Martin as well as a number of MP's.
VANCOUVER AQUARIUM GETS $25 MILLION FROM FROM FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND BC PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT
Prime Minister Stephen Harper, local Members of Parliament and Senator Martin were at the Vancouver Aquarium today where the Prime Minister announced that the aquarium will receive $25 million in Federal and Provincial funding to revitalize some of the aquariums aging and physical infrastructure.
