NOVEMBER 11 - REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY
Brampton, ON - On November 11th, Consul General Deuk Hwan Kim of the Republic of Korea; Mr. Sun Ho Song, members of the Korean Canadian community, veterans and families gathered at the historic Wall of Remembrance in the Meadowvale cemetery to remember all those who served and sacrificed their lives during the Korean War.
NOVEMBER 11 - REMEMBRANCE DAY CEREMONY
Burnaby, BC – Senator Martin, Members of Parliament Terry Beech, Peter Julian and Bonita Zarrillo; Members of the BC Legislature Speaker Raj Chouhan, Minister Katrina Chen, Minister Ann Kang, MLA Janet Routledge and MLA Michael Lee; His Worship Mike Hurley, Mayor of Burnaby and councillors of Coquitlam and the Township of Langley, dignitaries, military personnel and members of the Korean Canadian community stood alongside our brave veterans for a special Remembrance Day ceremony at the Ambassador of Peace Memorial on November 11th to honour all those who served and sacrificed their lives during the Korean War.
NOVEMBER 10 - TURN TO BUSAN
Ottawa, ON - On November 10th, The Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, Minister of Veterans Affairs; Member of Parliament Paul Ledwell, His Excellency Woongsoon Lim, Ambassador-Designate of the Republic of Korea to Canada; Colonel Andre Delhommeau, Canadian Armed Forces; Kristin Doyle on behalf of Senator Yonah Martin, Veterans of the Korean War, dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps, KWCC and Korean Canadian community gathered for the annual Turn Toward Busan ceremony. This symbolic ceremony coincides with the Turn Toward Busan ceremony in Busan, Korea at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery, to pay tribute to the nearly 400 Canadian fallen who are laid to rest in the cemetery.
NOVEMBER 5 - KINGSTON VETERANS EVENT
Kingston, ON - Senator Martin, along with dignitaries, member of the Canadian armed forces, veterans, families and members of the Korean Canadian Community Centre of Greater Eastern Ontario attended a special remembrance ceremony at Trinity Chapel at CFB Kingston. They gathered together to honour our beloved veterans of the Korean War who did not waiver, who stood strong and protected Korea and her people 70 years ago.
NOVEMBER 3 - VISITING MONUMENTS
Ottawa, ON - Senator Martin visited Animal in War Monument and Korean War Fallen Monument to honour and remember all those who served and sacrificed during the Korean War.
NOVEMBER 2 - MEETING WITH GEORDIE HUNGERFORD
Ottawa, ON - Senator Martin had a meeting with Mr. Geordie Hungerford, CEO of the First National Financial Management Board.
