TOFINO, BC – The Honourable Yonah Martin, Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition joined Korean War veterans, Consul General Kim Gun, guests and members of the Korean Canadian community of Victoria and mainland BC, to take part in a commemorative ceremony to mark the 66th Anniversary of the Battle of Kapyong.‎

The Kapyong ceremony in Tofino was held once more at Pacific Rim National Park Reserve of Canada which was twinned in 1997 with Hallyo Haesang Sea National Park in Korea as a symbol of the deep-rooted friendship between Canada and Korea. On Radar Hill in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, is a cairn and plaque that honours the service of Canadians for their heroic achievement and valour during the Korean War.
