(Tofino, BC & Winnipeg, MB &Ottawa, ON ) – On April 21st  Senator Martin joined Korean War veterans, Consul General Kim Gunn, guests and members of the Korean Canadian community of Victoria and mainland BC, to take part in a commemorative ceremony to mark the 66th Anniversary of the Battle of Kapyong.‎ The Kapyong ceremony in Tofino was held at Pacific Rim National Park Reserve of Canada which was twinned in 1997 with Hallyo Haesang Sea National Park in Korea as a symbol of the deep-rooted friendship between Canada and Korea. On April 22nd,  veterans and community members gathered at the Korean War Memorial in Ottawa. In Winnipeg, an inaugural Kapyong Commemorative Ceremony was held at the newly renamed Kapyong Park in Winnipeg.
