AUGUST, 2011, NEWSLETTER
Sincere greetings on behalf of the Senate of Canada! I hope Summer 2011 has been productive and memorable, though it’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. 2011 has been filled with important milestones – like the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Kapyong (one of the historic battles during the Korean War); significant events – like the federal election which resulted in a Conservative majority government; and noteworthy developments, at home and abroad.
A change that took place within our office was the departure of my Executive Assistant Paul Seear, who is now with Minister Lynne Yellich; and the arrival of my new EA, Grace Seear! With Kristin Joiner and Ed Sem in Ottawa and Vancouver respectively, we have a wonderfully dedicated team in place. Lastly, the new look of this newsletter can be credited to our intern, Leah Buchholz, who is the editor/producer of this latest issue. Together, my staff and I have been honoured to serve you and work with you on the important issues and projects of 2011.
Thank you for your invaluable support and partnership!
Sincerely,
Senator Yonah Martin
