SENATOR YONAH MARTIN PAYS TRIBUTE TO VETERANS OF SECOND WORLD WAR
BURNABY BC - On behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, Senator Yonah Martin, Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate, hosted a ceremony today recognizing Canadian Veterans of the Second World War in honour of the 75th anniversary of Canada’s participation in the conflict.
Among their family, friends and community, residents of George Derby who are Second World War Veterans were presented with a commemorative lapel pin and certificate of recognition in honour of the extraordinary role Canadians played in the Allied victory.
Senator Martin presented pins and certificates to 29 residents. In total, 215 residents at the George Derby Centre will receive the pins and certificates.
