Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. As a proud British Columbian, I was honoured to be called by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to serve as one of the six senators for the "Jewel of the Pacific." I live in East Vancouver and am committed to serving the constituents of British Columbia and Canada to the best of my abilities. I hope that you will find useful information here about the Senate and the important role it plays in a democratic society. Senator Yonah Martin                                                        Deputy Government Whip in the Senate

Private Member's Motion

Knowing that   the present is built on the foundations of the past, Senator Martin knows that she would not be here today had it not been for the sacrifices of Canadians and others during the Korean War. Her commitment to the veterans is, therefore, unwavering. In April 2010, Senator Martin introduced a Private Member’s Motion to acknowledge and endorse July 27th annually as National Korean War Veterans Day. Then on June 8th, it passed unanimously in the Senate Chamber.

Special Feature

On April 21, 2012, the ashes of Archie Hearsey, a Korean War veteran, was sent to Korea for burial at his request.
